The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its army had taken control of the village of Izmailivka in eastern Ukraine, located on the front line in Donetsk province.

The ministry added that Russian forces repelled 11 Ukrainian attacks and that the Ukrainian army suffered losses of 600 soldiers, 4 armored vehicles, and several artillery pieces, in addition to the destruction of an ammunition depot.

Russian forces announced yesterday, Saturday, that they had taken control of the town of Oleksandropil, while reports indicate that they are close to taking control of two other towns, Hernik and Selidove.
