A report compiled under the auspices of the National Cyberspace Authority (NCA) has revealed that more than 60 per cent of China’s population has basic or higher levels of digital knowledge and skills.
The report, which provides an overview of the level of digital knowledge and skills of Chinese citizens, shows that nearly 61 per cent of adults in China have basic or higher levels of digital knowledge and skills. For minors, the figure is around 65 per cent.
The report divides digital knowledge and skills into three categories: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. This categorisation is based on individuals’ abilities in terms of digital perception, application skills and mindset, as represented by the digital aspect of their lives, work and studies.
The report also shows a positive correlation between digital literacy and higher educational attainment.
