Libya Tops Africa with Foreign Exchange Reserves Over $80 Billion

Libya has maintained a significant foreign exchange reserve of $80.7 billion in 2024, making it the leader among African countries, while being one of the continent’s major oil producers.
Despite political challenges and internal conflicts, Libya has managed to keep its reserves high thanks to its oil production and exports.
The African Export-Import Bank stated that the Central Bank of Libya has utilized these reserves to stabilize the economy, especially during fluctuations in global oil prices.
