Seven people, including five children, were killed in a bomb attack on policemen guarding a polio vaccination campaign in western Pakistan on Friday, police said.
A policeman, five policemen, five children and a shopkeeper’ were killed in the blast in Mastung, south of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, senior police officer Abdul Fattah told AFP.

A powerful bomb attached to a motorbike exploded near a vehicle carrying policemen, killing seven people, including five children, who were near the vehicle, officials said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but suspicion is likely to fall on separatist groups who have stepped up attacks on security forces and civilians in recent months.
