Kuwait: Conference on combating terrorism kicks off

The Fourth Conference on Strengthening International Cooperation in Countering Terrorism and Building Flexible Border Security Mechanisms opened in Kuwait on Monday.

More than 450 participants, including 33 ministers from member states, as well as representatives of UN specialised agencies, 23 international and regional organisations and 13 civil society organisations, are taking part in the conference.

The conference will conclude on Tuesday with the adoption of the ‘Kuwait Declaration on Border Security and Management’. According to the Kuwait News Agency, ‘the declaration will reflect the discussions, opinions and views of the participants and will serve as a guiding document for counter-terrorism efforts and capacity building in the field of border security’
