The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported to foreign media outlets on Tuesday that the intervention of the Taliban has become an increasing challenge in the process of delivering humanitarian aid.
According to OCHA’s reports, humanitarian partners in Afghanistan reported 173 incidents in September 2024 that hindered the delivery of aid. These incidents included interference in humanitarian activities, restrictions on the movement of agencies, staff, and goods, as well as violence against relief workers.
As a result of these challenges, relief agencies were forced to temporarily suspend 83 projects, relocate their operations, and reduce their field activities.
