The National Electric Company of Cuba announced that Hurricane “Rafael” caused a nationwide power outage on Wednesday, plunging the island’s 10 million residents into darkness.

The company “Union Electrica” wrote on X: “The strong winds caused by Hurricane Rafael disrupted the national electricity grid.

A large-scale power outage on October 18 had previously left the island without electricity for four days.
