Qatar’s Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday evening that the draft amendments to the Permanent Constitution of the State of Qatar were approved by 90.6 per cent of the total valid votes cast.
This was announced in a statement by the Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, head of the General Referendum Committee.
The public referendum on the draft constitutional amendments to the permanent constitution of the State of Qatar took place (Tuesday) amid a great response from citizens,’ the Qatari official said in the statement posted by the Ministry of Interior on its verified account on the Xbox platform.
The draft constitutional amendments to the permanent constitution of the State of Qatar received a popular approval rate of 90.6 per cent of the total valid votes,’ he added.
According to Qatar News Agency, the draft constitutional amendments include changes to the text of 14 articles, additions to two articles and the deletion of three articles.
