Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut confirmed that Russia has achieved self-sufficiency in grains for this season, with a harvest of 128 million tons of grains, including wheat.
She explained that domestic consumption amounts to 87 million tons, ensuring self-sufficiency. She also mentioned that the harvest process has reached 97% of the planted areas.
According to estimates from the International Grains Council, Russia is expected to account for a quarter of global wheat exports.
