The Sudanese Medical Association announced on Wednesday evening that at least 73 people have died from a “mysterious illness” in the town of Al-Hilaliya, located in the Eastern part of the country’s Gezira State.

Health authorities are investigating the causes of this illness, while residents express growing concern over the deteriorating health situation in the region.
