President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as White House Chief of Staff.

Susie will continue to work tirelessly to make America great again,’ the Trump campaign said in a statement, noting the importance of her role in the campaign’s successes.

Wiles, who played a prominent role in running a disciplined and well-executed Trump campaign, is the first woman to hold the position in US history.

The appointment does not require Senate confirmation, unlike cabinet posts, ambassadors and other appointments that do.
