The British Foreign Office has imposed new sanctions targeting private and military Russian companies operating in Libya and the African Sahel region, accusing them of providing military and material support to the Kremlin in its war on Ukraine.

The ministry stated that the sanctions include suppliers of military equipment and mercenary groups such as the African Corps, in addition to a Russian intelligence agent involved in the use of nerve gas in the city of Salisbury.
