China will host Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu for security consultations in Beijing on Tuesday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will meet Shoigu for ‘strategic security consultations’, Beijing said.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said: ‘The two sides will discuss key issues related to the strategic security interests of the two countries and enhance mutual trust.

The talks will cover current issues of international and regional security, as well as a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation,’ he added.
