South Africa Football Federation President Arrested Over Corruption Allegations

Local media reported that the authorities in South Africa arrested Danny Jordaan, the president of the National Football Association, on Wednesday, following allegations of using union funds for personal purposes.
The arrest came after Jordaan attempted to legally challenge his detention, with the Supreme Court set to review his case on Thursday. However, he was arrested before the hearing could take place.
Jordaan is accused of using union resources for personal gain between 2014 and 2018, including hiring a private security company and a public relations firm without approval from the federation’s board.
Jordaan, 73, will appear in court later today alongside the federation’s financial director, Gronie Hlowyo, and businessman Trevor Neethling.
