OECD: Global Migration Reaches Record 6.5 Million in 2023

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) reported in its latest publication on Thursday that global migration flows reached record levels for the second consecutive year in 2023, with 6.5 million new permanent migrants compared to 6.1 million the previous year.
The report noted that nearly one-third of the 38 member countries, such as the UK, Canada, France, Japan, and Switzerland, recorded historically high levels of migration.
The increase was mainly attributed to a 16% rise in family migration and a 20% growth in humanitarian migration.
