Boeing Begins Laying Off 2,200 Employees as Part of Workforce Reduction Plan

Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, has sent its first layoff notices as part of a plan to reduce its global workforce by 10%, including 2,200 people in the state of Washington.
This comes after production quality issues and a strike that lasted over 50 days. According to a document published by the Washington Employment Security Department, 2,199 employees will be laid off starting December 20th.
