The United States has imposed new sanctions on 50 Russian financial institutions, including the financial arm of Gazprom, aimed at reducing funding for the war in Ukraine.

The sanctions include freezing assets, banning commercial transactions, and preventing targeted officials from entering U.S. territory.

Washington also warned foreign institutions against cooperating with Russia’s financial messaging system, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining pressure on Moscow to end its war against Ukraine.
