Gatwick Airport in London has experienced heightened security and emergency measures after a suspicious bomb was reported inside a travel bag, leading to the evacuation of part of the southern terminal and the delay of several flights.
Police announced that a security cordon has been established around the area to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, and a specialized explosives team has been deployed to handle the suspicious object.
The security measures extended beyond the airport, as the train station serving the airport was also closed, resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.
