Ten people, including seven children from the same family, have died in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo due to a landslide caused by heavy rainfall.

A local organization reported that the flooding swept away nine homes and caused damage to 31 others.

Climate experts indicate that poor urban planning and inadequate infrastructure exacerbate the impact of heavy rains in Congo, which have increased due to rising temperatures.
