Sixteen people have been killed and seven others are missing in floods on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, an Indonesian official has said.

Rescuers pulled 16 bodies from under tonnes of mud and rocks swept away by floods that hit mountain villages on Sumatra island, officials said on Monday.
Six people were still missing, the Associated Press reported.
Dozens of people were injured in the flash floods, which also destroyed more than 130 hectares of farmland.
