Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune confirmed today, Tuesday, that the agricultural sector contributes 15% to the country’s GDP, compared to only 5% for the industrial sector.
In a related context, Tebboune stated that agriculture has generated 37 billion dollars this year, noting that Algeria is on the right path toward freeing itself from dependence on hydrocarbons.
He also confirmed that the government will provide loans to farmers and work on finalizing the land ownership issue by the end of 2025.
