In an escalatory move that may heighten tensions over the nuclear issue, Iran announced on Tuesday, through its Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, that it will begin operating thousands of advanced centrifuges.

This announcement comes in response to last week’s resolution by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which criticized Tehran for its lack of cooperation in disclosing details about its nuclear activities and called for a comprehensive report by spring 2025.
