Russia has ordered a British diplomat to leave the country, accusing him of espionage, a claim denied by the UK government.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) stated that the diplomat provided false information upon entry and was involved in “subversive activities threatening Russia’s security.”

The UK government has vowed to respond, escalating tensions between the two nations.
