After the ceasefire… Popular funeral for Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon

Hezbollah is preparing a ‘popular’ funeral for its former secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli raid on the southern suburbs in late September, a party official said on Wednesday, shortly after a ceasefire came into effect in Lebanon.

We postponed the funeral of His Eminence the Secretary General in order to hold a funeral befitting his spirit and his martyrdom, along with that of his comrade Sayyed Hashim (Safieddine),’ the head of the party’s executive council, who was also killed in an Israeli strike, Mahmoud Qamati, deputy head of the political council, told a news conference in Beirut’s southern suburbs. Today we are preparing for this funeral, which will be a clear, strong, popular, official and political exception,’ he added.
