Stellantis has announced that it will close its factory in Luton, North London, and focus production at its Ellesmere Port site in the North of England, which will lead to the loss of hundreds of jobs.
The Luton plant currently employs over 1,100 people, and some of them are expected to be re-employed at Ellesmere Port, where hundreds of new jobs will be created.
The company had previously threatened to halt production in the UK due to a lack of support for electric vehicles.
