The UK has signed a security agreement with Iraq to combat human trafficking gangs and enhance border cooperation.

British Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, stated that these gangs exploit dangerous crossings across the English Channel and operate through several European countries, extending to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Cooper also added that tackling organized crime requires coordination between law enforcement agencies across borders, emphasizing the UK’s support to Iraq in addressing these crimes, including drug trafficking.
