At least 27 people have died after floods and landslides hit several locations in Indonesia’s North Sumatra province.
Heavy rains since last week have caused torrential rains and landslides in four different areas, while rescuers continue to search for passengers trapped in a minibus buried in mud.
Landslides and torrential rains have damaged homes, mosques and rice fields, while the Meteorological Agency has warned of extreme weather conditions through the end of the year as the El Niño phenomenon increases rainfall in the region.
