Six people are dead and about 30 are missing after landslides hit a village in eastern Uganda, a local official said Thursday, warning the toll could rise.

Vahira Mbaliani, an official in Bulambuli district, told AFP after the landslides in Masogo village: ‘We have lost about 30 people,’ she said, noting that six bodies had been found, one of them a baby.
