Spain adopts paid leave for employees in climate emergencies

The Spanish government approved on Thursday a paid leave for employees for climate reasons, lasting four days, in case of weather warnings, as part of measures to limit movement during severe weather conditions.
The measure, approved by the Cabinet, aims to adjust Spanish labor law to accommodate climate emergencies.
This decision applies to employees who receive weather warnings from local or government authorities, following criticism of companies that forced employees to work during the floods that struck southeastern Spain in October.
