Heavy Rains Threaten Malaysia with Worst Floods in 10 Years

Devastating floods triggered by heavy rains in Malaysia have resulted in the deaths of three individuals and displaced over 80,000 others, putting the country at risk of experiencing its worst flooding in a decade.

According to the National Disaster Management Centre, 84,597 people from more than 25,000 families have been evacuated across seven states, with 488 temporary shelters established to accommodate those affected. Kelantan, located in the northeastern part of the country and bordering Thailand, has been the hardest hit.

Relief efforts are ongoing in the affected areas, as local authorities work to provide necessary assistance to those impacted amid forecasts of more heavy rain in the coming days.
