The United States has approved $385 million in new arms sales to Taiwan, reflecting a deepening of military relations that raise concerns for China.
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced that it expects to begin delivering military equipment, including spare parts for fighter jets and radar systems, in 2025.
For its part, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its opposition to visits by Taiwan’s leaders to the United States. China has increased military pressure on Taiwan in recent years, with near-daily deployments of fighter jets and warships near the island.
