U.S. President Joe Biden arrived in Angola today (Sunday) to support a railway project linking the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia to the port of Lobito, aiming to shift key mineral exports like copper and cobalt away from China.
The project, partially funded by a U.S. loan, seeks to enhance trade with Western countries.
Through this visit, the United States also aims to strengthen its relations with Angola, a country with which it has had tense relations in the past due to the civil war.
