Putin approves budget that raises military spending to record levels

Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the budget plans for 2025, raising military spending to record levels, with 32.5% of the budget allocated to defense, amounting to 13.5 trillion rubles (more than 145 billion dollars).
The Russian parliament also approved these plans, which include a 25% increase in military spending, making it the most secretive budget in Russia’s post-Soviet history.
This budget focuses on supporting the military operation in Ukraine, as well as addressing social needs and enhancing technological development.
