Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are investigating a mysterious illness resembling influenza that has led to the deaths of dozens in the southwestern region of the country over the past two weeks.

The fatalities were reported in the Kwango province between November 10 and 25, with symptoms including fever, headache, and cough. The number of deaths ranges between 67 and 143 people.
