UN Appeal to Raise $47 Billion to Support 190 Million People in 2025

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has launched an appeal to raise over $47 billion to provide assistance to around 190 million people in 2025.
This comes at a time when humanitarian needs are rising due to ongoing conflicts and climate change.
In this context, Tom Fletcher, the Emergency Relief Coordinator, explained that the most vulnerable groups, such as children and women, are paying the highest price.
On the other hand, the UN estimates that 305 million people will need humanitarian aid next year, increasing the challenges of humanitarian response.
Despite a reduction in appeals for 2024, funding has only reached 43% of the required amount, further exacerbating the crisis.
