A report by Swiss Re: Natural Disasters Cause Massive Losses Estimated at $310 Billion

According to Swiss Re, natural disasters this year have caused economic losses estimated at around $310 billion, a 6% increase compared to 2023.
Insurance-covered damages also rose by 17% to $135 billion, due to hurricanes “Helen” and “Milton”.
The company noted that insurance losses from floods amounted to $13 billion since the beginning of the year, with total economic losses expected to reach $320 billion when accounting for human disasters.
