Qatar announced today, Thursday, the resumption of its mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, after a brief suspension.

Informed sources clarified that Qatar has returned to its role as a key mediator, without revealing details of recent meetings with the involved parties.

In related news, U.S. President-elect’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, met on Wednesday with the Prime Ministers of Qatar and Israel to initiate diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire and securing the release of hostages before Trump takes office on January 20.
