Cairo is preparing to host a new round of negotiations next week to discuss a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, according to a source close to the movement who spoke to foreign media.
The negotiations will include discussions on ideas for a ceasefire and prisoner exchanges, with the participation of Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish mediators.
Qatar, Egypt, and the United States had previously led negotiations that did not yield results, but momentum has returned following Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. elections.
In this context, Hamas member Basem Naeem indicated that the movement is ready to show flexibility in reaching an agreement to end the war, including scheduling the withdrawal of Israeli forces from key areas in Gaza.
