Voters in Ghana headed to polling stations this Saturday morning to cast their votes in presidential and parliamentary elections held amid one of the worst economic crises in the country’s recent history.
In the presidential race, former President John Dramani Mahama, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), competes against Mahamudu Bawumia, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate.
Preliminary results are expected to emerge late Saturday, with official results anticipated by next Tuesday.
