On Saturday, Tunisian Minister of Trade, Samir Abid, and Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Huweij, held a meeting to discuss ways to enhance trade relations between the two countries.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Libyan-Tunisian Joint Economic Committee meeting in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
Abid emphasized the importance of developing the legal framework to include new areas, such as alignment with African trade agreements.
The two sides agreed to form a rapid response team to resolve issues related to border crossings and deepen cooperation in industry and agriculture.
For his part, Al-Huweij highlighted the need to improve and increase bilateral trade to 5 billion dinars annually, through supporting joint projects and establishing investment zones in border areas.
