Austria and Germany suspended asylum applications from Syrians on Monday following the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad.

The Austrian Interior Ministry confirmed that procedures will stop, with plans for organized repatriation.

Germany also halted all asylum requests until further notice, awaiting political developments in Syria.

This move comes amid reports of other European countries planning similar actions, including France, Greece, and Denmark.
