Real wages rise globally, except in Arab countries, according to an international study

Recent data from the International Labour Organization revealed that real wages have risen in most parts of the world, except in Arab countries.
In these countries, real wages increased only in 10 out of 19 years, while they remained stable or declined in other periods.
The data also showed that 10% of workers in Arab countries, approximately 5.2 million workers, live below the poverty line, with the number of poor workers rising to 7.1 million in 2023, accounting for 12.6% of the total workforce in the region.
The phenomenon of stagnant wages continues in Arab countries, especially in non-GCC member states, where the poverty rate among workers reached 27.7% in 2023.
