Kenyan police used tear gas today, Tuesday, to disperse hundreds of protesters in the capital, Nairobi, who gathered to protest the rising cases of violence and murder against women.

Police arrested several participants in the protests, which resulted in injuries to many demonstrators.

Kenya is facing a significant crisis regarding violence against women, with police reporting that 97 women have been killed since August, most of them by their male partners.
