Thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate or prepare to flee due to a massive wildfire in Malibu, California. Firefighters are battling the spread of the flames amid strong winds.

Authorities have reported that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire, which broke out near coastal mansions and Pepperdine University.

The fire damaged several homes and put more than 8,100 homes and structures at risk.
