European Commission Launches Air Bridge for Humanitarian Aid to Syria

The European Commission announced on Friday that it will establish an air bridge to Syria to deliver emergency healthcare assistance and essential supplies.

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that “the collapse of the Assad regime brings new hope to the Syrian people” while acknowledging the risks and challenges involved.

Funding has been secured for flights carrying 50 tons of health supplies from EU warehouses in Dubai to Adana, Turkey, with 46 tons of aid for health, education, and shelter sent from Denmark.
