One person was killed and 43 others were injured in random gunfire during the celebration of raising the “Syrian Independence” flag in the city of Raqqa, northeastern Syria.

In response to accusations directed at the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) regarding the gunfire, the forces confirmed that they would take responsibility for any violations and would take legal action against any party found to be involved.

Ahmed al-Shar’ (Abu Muhammad al-Julani) called in a televised speech for a peaceful celebration, urging against the use of weapons.
