The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that it will close its embassy in Dublin due to what it described as the “hardline anti-Israel” policies pursued by the Irish government, further escalating tensions between the two countries.
In a statement, the ministry said, “The decision to close the Israeli embassy in Dublin was made in light of the hardline anti-Israel policies adopted by the Irish government.”
For his part, Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris considered the Israeli occupation’s decision to close its embassy to be “extremely regrettable.”
