On Sunday, the Israeli occupation government unanimously approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to expand settlements in the Golan Heights.

The government stated that the decision comes “in light of the war and the new front with Syria,” and aims “to encourage demographic growth in the Golan and Katzrin settlements, at a total cost exceeding 40 million shekels.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized that “strengthening the Golan is a reinforcement of the State of Israel, which is vital, especially under the current circumstances.”
