Severe Weather Storms Hit the U.S., Causing Widespread Damage

The United States experienced severe weather storms over the weekend, resulting in heavy snowfall in upstate New York, a dangerous ice storm in the Midwest, and a rare tornado striking Central California, causing widespread damage and loss of life and property.

In the Midwest, an ice storm began Friday evening, creating hazardous driving conditions in Iowa and Eastern Nebraska, leading to a temporary closure of Interstate 80 after a series of vehicle accidents.

In upstate New York, the “Orchard Park” area recorded over 33 inches (84 cm) of snowfall, disrupting traffic.

Meanwhile, a tornado hit the Scotts Valley area in California, causing vehicles to overturn and trees to fall, with injured individuals transported to hospitals.
