Thousands of supporters of South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol gathered in downtown Seoul on Saturday to protest the parliamentary vote for his impeachment.
The demonstrators called for the impeachment decision to be withdrawn, criticizing the opposition party and chanting slogans against opposition leader Lee Jae-myung.
While some protesters expressed disappointment, others insisted on continuing their fight. The National Assembly voted in favor of the impeachment motion with 204 votes for and 85 against.
After the vote, President Yoon stated in a message that he “will never give up,” urging the government to maintain stability during his suspension.
